WRITER Looking For NEW/UNPUBLISHED

If you are a newer writer and not yet published, connecting with other "newbies" can help you in many ways. Inexperience doesn't mean a person isn't qualified to critique! In fact, folk just starting out often have more time and motivation to devote to critiquing other people's work.

Just be aware that you're both still finding your way around.

Critter Connect strongly suggests that every newbie find experienced eyes to at least give their manuscripts a once-over before submitting them.

  1. Hi
Seeking fellow unpublished authors to form an in-depth critique group.

I feel that critiquing another's work can inspire one to think about what may or may not be working in one's own WIP. It's also great to have some feedback on a piece - writing can be a lonely business.

I'm working on a few short MG pieces - mainly to enter into competitions, plus a longer fantasy novel that's nearing completion.

I would only ask a fellow critter to comment on a piece that I feel has been polished and is nearing the point where it would be submitted, and ask that fellow critters only ask that of me. I'd be prepared to do an in-depth crit of style, pacing, rhythm, and plot cohesion. If you're only wanting to bounce ideas around, I would prefer to not be involved.

I've already had one interested person respond - let's get a few together and see what happens!
